King Cafe Pavilion
King Cafe is a cafe located in the basement of King Library, the biggest library on Miami University's campus.
This Pavilion Design Project is to create a social pavilion space for students to hang out inside and outside King Cafe's main entrance. In other words, this is also a king cafe re-design.

Concept
The design inspiration comes from the mascot of Miami University, the Red Hawk. In my opinion, as a student, King Library is one of the most important component of Miami University. It offers many help, comfort and convenience for students. To me, King library is almost like a protector to the university. Therefore, I want the design to reflect the idea of "Protection." Following this idea, I realize that the wings of the hawk is the most powerful weapon and protection it can offer to students. Furthermore, the single pieces that made the pavilion represents all the small detail effort the library and the university did for students.
